Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can begin it, boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now. ~ Goethe
The quote above is one of my mom’s favourites. Usually it is reproduced with just the last two lines but I think you need more in order to grasp its true power. DREAM and DO. That’s what it’s all about.
My friends, I made it to my yoga class. Well done me! I arrived 40 minutes early because I wasn’t going to take any chances. This allowed me the time to find out what all was going on with my class pass. It turns out that there is another “Tavares” and he or she was getting FREE classes on my pass. Oui! C’est vrai! It was a clerical error but long story short, it all got sorted and I still have one class left. Yay! Class was INTENSE. It was hot, humid and packed. (January & February tend to be busiest because of those New Year’s Resolutions.) There was this cute kid (I say kid – no idea how old he actually is) next to me who was totally rockin’ Half Moon pose. I was impressed. Needless to say, I felt great afterwards and was so excited to get home with my Fresh take-out for Mike and I to devour with a glass of wine while watching Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice. (I have a follow-up post coming next to share something sweet that I discovered during our TV watching.)
In an effort to “begin it now”, I want to share with you something I am finding to be quite the INSPIRATION. MyLifeList started by Bill Starr is an awesome goal achievement website that uses the power of social networking to help you achieve your goals and inspire others. I have been slowly but surely adding to my list (basically transferring what I already have in a word document to this website). It’s amazing to read what others have accomplished – like one person reclaimed his French heritage and another travelled and worked in Antarctica. So cool. I am finding it fascinating to see what goals others are challenging themselves to achieve. Bill actually found ME through prairiegirlbyday and invited me to the site. So now, I in turn, invite you. Check it out!
